I bought one before the initial run of 100 were sold. I'm now using it with an optical cable as opposed to the coax, and I believe it sounds even better. Thanks to one of the guys at another forum for suggesting that, as I was more than happy with the sound using a Belden/ Canare coax cable.

You don't need to spend anywhere near that sort of cash to get a great dac. I went from a £1700 Theta dac combination to a £200 Beresford Bushmaster dac, and to my( and many other expensive dac users) astonishment, was gob smacked to find the Bushmaster was superior.

It's also a fact that a comparatively cheap DVD will often excell over a far costlier CDP when used this way, I used to use an old Tosh 330 into a Beresford dac that was on par with my £1K plus cdp.
