    Blu Ray Audio discs

You normally would choose it via onscreen menu. My 13 year old CA player has an audio-only button on the remote which actually blanks out the TV. I bought the Yes Topographic Tales 5.1 Blu-ray set years ago.

    Blu Ray Audio discs

I have a Blu-ray player with a display. I will never buy any disc player without a display. So that will rule Sonys out, apart from a few other reasons.

    Blu Ray Audio discs

I'm looking for a reply with anyone actually using these discs.

    Blu Ray Audio discs

I just told you I meant Blu-ray Audio discs, and I changed the thread title to indicate so. But even with Blu-ray Audio discs, I'm assuming there'd be some visual element while playing the disc? Or am I wrong? Is it just audio and no visual elements at all?

Cambridge Audio EXN 100 & USB

You do realise a NAS connects to your router? Thus no need to connect directly to the EXN100. Unless you meant a hard drive/SSD which you do connect to the EXN100. Yes you will find those, but make sure they can be independently powered, just in case.

    Blu Ray Audio discs

It's often high-res audio 24/192 they contain and/or Atmos mixes.

That's what I was talking about.

    Blu Ray Audio discs

An album is being released or re-released literally every other day. I want to bite but... Is it not a faff having to blank out the TV just to hear the music?

Cambridge Audio EXN 100 & USB

On most hifi streamers the USB port is meant to be used for a single stick/drive. That the EXN 100 sees 7 should garner your utter worship to Cambridge. You're asking the EXN100 to do something way above its station. Lucky 7.

    Surprisingly disappointing

The Vibelink is a curiously compromised device. By itself it won't work with any remote control, yet has inputs and a first class DAC chip. WiiM should have made it a pure power amplifier to pair with the Ultra, and dedicated the savings to improved amplification. Ed Selley made the ironic...

A polite conversation about the merits of different DAC technologies.

It's quickly becoming established, and those DACs that do have it usually sound best through it. With modern and increasing upsampling technologies both optical and coaxial are becoming more and more limited. PS Audio have been using I2S for a while now. I think it's just a matter of time...

    Question What Format ?

It's not just that. I had a Technics CD player too and it was superb. My hunch, and I'm happy to be proven wrong, is that common off the shelf DACs like ESS and AKM that are widespread in today's hifi are tuned or designed for hyper clarity at the expense of soundstaging and imaging. I'm willing...

    Question IMPEDENCE.

Only discovered recently that Luxman is part of the IAG group. Back to topic I don't think the Luxman would have trouble driving the speaker anyway.

Does anyone here have Klipsch the Fives, Sevens or Nines? You like them?

For a streamer at the WiiM's price I would connect via optical anyway. The Sevens are kind of a do-it-all speaker, but I would not dismiss its DAC, it serves its purpose very well and the speaker does sound very good overall.
