    B&W PX8 S2 headphones review

Traditional wired cans are only for audiophile freaks. I'm being facetious but let me explain why, cans like the Px7, Px8 and the new Cambridge ones too all have a USB C connection which gives you high res access to the built-in DAC. And they sound even better that way, as great as their...

    SACD transport - recommendations please

There are hardly any SACD players under 5k or more, and I mean if any, that do internal DSD decoding. You have your Marantz SACD 30n which is over 3k GBP. I can't think of a single one below this price. So if you're getting a SACD transport you 100% want a I2S interface with a DAC to match...

Question Is WiiM still the answer?

True, if you don't need room correction etc, the Nano is the one to beat the price.

Question Is WiiM still the answer?

Arylic always had shortfalls in the software and connectivity areas. I'd still stump up the few quid extra for a WiiM honestly.

Question DACMagic 200M |How much of a difference can I expect?

Lower tier Linn components still use AKM based DACs, heavily reprogrammed. Top tier ones use Linn's new, own, from the ground up DACs.

    CD section

Agreed. But what WHF is doing is catering to a younger audience, which is not a bad thing by any means, but is leading towards increasingly questionable editorials.

The new Musical Fidelity B1xi seems excellent too.

    Arcam A15 or Cambridge CXA81 MK2

Be aware the Arcam A15 has just been updated as the A15+ with claimed improved sound, and an HDMI port for TV duty. If it were my cash....

GPMI vs HDMI/DP: Is a New Standard Coming?

I see it as complimentary. Just like 8k is. Even the industry has accepted that 8k won't become a mainstream consumer standard anytime soon. 4K is just catching on.

    Spotify Lossless

ALERT There's apparently good news for free users. Shuffling is gone, so now you can listen to albums/playlists in track sequence. Will test later.

How do you listen to your TV?

It's not a perfect solution, and in this case a universal remote is a must. I don't know how newer TVs behave, but on an older Samsung the TV remote tried to simultaneously control the volume of the TV and amp, with the TV throwing a hissy fit on screen displaying a message every time which you...

How do you listen to your TV?

There's obviously a reason why HDMI on stereo components is becoming as prevalent as audio only digital inputs.

    Spotify Lossless

In Tidal itself there is a clear difference between the lowest lossy MP3 tier and the CD quality (16/44) tier, let along the Max tier. Additionally, at the lossy level, Spotify sounds better with superior clarity. Tidal lossy really does not sound good at all.

This time it’s really happening. Maybe: Spotify Pro

They haven't rolled it out to all countries yet. First check for an app update, then wait till the end of the month.
