Hi, I dont think you need a mono switch - wont the balance control on most amps do this, it moves position from speaker to speaker if it is fully over to the left both L&R will come through.

H there, The previous poster regarding secondary audio is correct - i had same issue with the 310, for some reason the default is on (different feature to the second HDMI out) - turn it of and you will have HD audio in all its glory!
