Thank you for taking the time to reply! Unfortunately where I am (Spain) there is not a big second hand market for such things (at least not a reliable one anyway...). I will check out the model you suggested :)

Thank you for your reply - much appreciated! So in your opinion, there is less risk in losing the sound we love by adding the Node vs. going the Powenode route. That's a very valuable feedback, one that I hadn't considered. As for the banana plugs, not sure why they haven't told us about that...
