I can confirm my Marantz NA7004 music server appears to be functioning again so thanks to Marantz for being able to fix it in a relatively short time. At least we were able to share the experience on this forum, many others will be unaware what the problem was and how and when it was resolved...

Please let us know if your connection is stable, I got mine working by temporarily disconnecting the internet but the Music Server spontaneously re-initialised on my NA7004 after a few minutes so I was back to square one. I've now decided it's best to access my NAS from my smart TV and play it...

Does your workaround not also prevent access to internet radio as well though ?

I tried installing the 'Marantz Hi-Fi Remote app and the first screen asked me to change models but does not list any compatible models (or incompatible ones either). I can add an IP address but when I enter this it says the device is not supported and then the NA7004 re-initialises the music...

Thanks for that its able to select tracks from my NAS quite well now. I can't find any option to select other functions of course like internet radio or other inputs but it's still worthwhile just for the music server function. Perhaps I spoke too soon as it played two tracks that I selected...

Downloaded the Denon app and it does provide some functionality and looks promising but I found the following problems. It asks me to enter the IP address of my device but when I enter it it says the device is unsupported but then goes on to display it anyway. It defaults to 'Select Music...

I just tried the technics app on my android tablet and as expected it could not find my Marantz player as presumably it is designed only to work for Technics devices. It did find the music on my NAS though and it certainly looks better designed and more intuitive than the Marantz version.

Thanks for the suggestion but I probably listen to internet radio more than music on my NAS.

I think now that we are accustomed to HD pictures that SD will always look inferior no matter which TV you view them on and particularly as larger screens are the norm. Personally I would think twice about buying a Samsung Smart TV because more often than not when selecting the 'Smart Hub' it...

It does seem suspicious that the problem appears to be related to an internet connection when it should not need one. I have just tried playing a track on my NA7004 from my Synology NAS and paused it before the ten seconds, I then unplugged the connection from my router to the BT socket and...

Thanks for the link, I've downloaded that but my player, an NA7004, is listed as 'experimental' and whilst it does provide some functionality, certainly more than the Marantz one, it's still not quite as convenient as the remote control. I'll look out for updates but the author may not implement...

I started the other thread related to this but I think it would be better for future posts to be made on this one instead to avoid duplication. I used to work in IT but I also would rather just switch on my system and listen to the music than faff about trying to work out what's wrong when it...
