Singapore is quite a small audio market overall, though a lot better than 10 years ago! So not much of a re-sale market really.
As you say Adelphi is good but not sure if you will find all of your selection in one store - pretty sure that the large Onkyo store on the 2nd floor also stock...
That's really bad luck Ricky Deg - hopefully MA will take pity on you and fix it for free too - two years is no doubt out of warranty but you expect far better from a quality range like the Apex. Good luck!
Hi Gosalh
Just waiting for my copy of Life of Pi to arrive - looking forward to hearing it on the Apex and a screen bigger than on a flight too!! Don't have the 7.2 you have but am pretty sure I'm going to enjoy it anyway with my 5.1 :)
Been spending more time of late on the stereo side of...
Would it be fair to say that most advancements that have been made in amps have been in the 'pre amp'/'DAC' and connectivity areas rather than their power amplification sections?
So if someone was looking for best SQ bang for buck would it make more sense to look at an older, maybe...
Going to start with a demo of the Cayin A88T when I have some time to concentrate on this mid April (too much travel at the moment but at least it's both business and pleasure time). Edward (Precision Audio) is pretty convinced that I will end up with the Cayin versus Music Fidelity 6i (and the...
Thanks for the info dsuciato on Simaudio dealers - think the Malaysia option will make more sense as closer and same voltage as Singapore too. Will have to plan to check it out.
Also thanks to cstanwhf - will check out Alpha Audio for Music Fidelity too.
I purchased my GX 300's from PA...
Thanks BigH for the Music Fidelity amp suggestion - they do get great reviews....not tracked down an importer into Singapore yet but sure there will be one.
Thanks ellisdj for the Graham Slee suggestion - found the importer that specialises more in headphones so waiting to hear if they have the...
Thanks again Ellisdj for your thoughts and suggestions. Interesting you are picking up on two aspects that I also think are pretty important to get the GX 300's really performing at their best - firstly, the soundstage, so you hear the instruments arranged both left to right and back to front...
Thanks Ellisdj - I'll have a closer look at Moon amplification.
I was also looking at a pair of mono Quad 405's that are refurbished/upgraded by Net Audio too. Don't know if anyone has any experience of Quad or Net Audio's sound with Monitor Audio speakers? Net Audio themselves think they will...
I have had a few really good listening session over the last few days and I must say that Quadpatch was spot on with his recommendation for the M-Dac to work well with the Denon 5000's. Absolutely beautiful from the minute I played the first track. I don't know how or if the sound will change...
Thanks Artist and Gordy.t for your thoughts. Will keep an eye on what John Westlake gets up to. When I purchased the M-Dac I thought it a bit strange that Audiolab only offered one balanced XLR Amp option currently with their mono blocs (and they have just updated their amps too). Maybe John...
Hi bluedroog - thanks for the input - I think taking advantage of the balanced xlr outputs of the M-Dac would make sense so I know that limits models but if spending on an upgrade then may as well improve the prospect of better sound. I've never heard Emotiva either but they seem great value and...
