Recommend me a Joe Cocker album

hi Steve, now everyone else has done what you asked for and recommended studio albums, can I recommend a live one? Live (1999). Guilty and You Can Leave Your Hat On are standout tracks for me! :-) Cheers!

    B&W CM1 review?

Which uniti are you using ? :) It's a 2010 NaimUniti, connected to the internet and a ReadyNAS duo via ethernet cable and to Virgin Media's TiVo box via the tv's digital audio output... I'm very tempted to take a Spotify Premium subscription via Virgin as that would then feed the NaimUniti...

    B&W CM1 review?

Very happy with my CM1s  From memory I auditioned them with B&W 805s, Spendor A3s and B&W 685s. To me they sounded smoother than the 685s. Spendors sounded sublime but my speaker placement is compromised by a sofa, so I decided standmounted speakers would be more practical. The 805s...

    Well done Virgin

Yup, I'm enjoying the TiVo as well. Does anyone know how the sound quality of Spotify Premium through TiVo connected digitally via the TV to the NaimUniti would compare with straight CD in the NaimUniti? Am tempted by the Spotify Premium but would want to ensure I could get decent sound. Thanks

    New Sonos S3, any good?

Just bought a PLAY:3 this morning - seems fine to me! Simple to set up; its in the kitchen where it has replaced an old 3-box Sony mini-disc system. Controlling it via Android and pc. Was very tempted by a Galaxy Tab 10.1 as well, but thought that at £400 it was just a touch expensive.

Anyone using their home power sockets to deliver audio to other rooms?

Hi, I suppose that a solution 'from hif-fi to remote speakers' is going to be via long speaker cable. If you specifically want to do it via ethernet, wireless or power network, then you're looking at a server of some sort- could be pc, nas-drive, PS3, internet etc and then amplification at the...

    Naim - my new system?

chebby: I can't relate to very much being said in this thread - regarding Naim kit - and it is not my place to 'defend' it. (Despite enjoying my own particular system and a few other Naim items that impressed at the time.) Best answer - and the only one that matters (in my opinion) - is to...

    How ridiculous

Sorry Joel, I'm not much of a cable expert... are they supposed to be the same or do the same thing? One of them looks like a mains cable.

    B&W CM1 or 685? CM7 or 684?

Hi Phonon, I compared the CM1s and 685s and ended up buying the CM1s. I found the CM1s to be slightly warmer whereas perhaps the 685s had a little more clarity. Our room is approx 20sqm and they're fine for that, driven by a naimUniti. Spendor A5s could be a good alternative for a...

    Life-like, or warm and cosy?

Graham_Thomas:I like women lifelike, warm and cozy. Hifi lifelike.......... hehe... I've was wondering when this comparison would be made... big bass, punchy, in your face, crisp... that's how I like my ... music as well
