Thinking about replacing / upgrading my Kef 2005 system. Would a T301 centre be better than a 3001? Any opinions in the V720 or V700? Any other wife friendly centres? Not going to get away with a shoe box below the TV!

There's not enough of it. In addition to the floor there is glass all round the room: too many reflective surfaces suck the lower freq and magnify the mids and highs. So trying to what little I can to improve the situation. I guess another question - do I want to couple or isolate the speakers...

I have experimented with the positioning and have them pretty much settled now. Some people mention placing speakers on granite plinths improves bass. Hence the question about placing them directly on the floor as they have plinths built in.

Andrew - interestingly in the main review I read on the TS2.12 they tried to integrate it with Tannoy Precision floorstanders. Issue was the minimum freq setting on the sub was 50hz which, in their view, caused some overlap with the main speaker. The T5 however can be set a lot lower
