With a budget of around £400 and having done some research are the B&W 607s the best out there? Pairing them with a Rotel RA04SE and PJ 1Xpression Carbon.

Its an old Rega and it is the detail from the vinyl that the PJ delivers which is what I like - looking at a pair of B&X 607s to replace the Qs as the upgrade.

PJ has 2M Silver.....will get some use out of that first that will be next look in 12-24 months

Not sure if you have sorted it out yet as will not read all replys....but a lot of chatter here abut RP3.....I have just upgraded my c25 yo RP3 for a Project 1 xpression carbon....thought it gave so much more detail over the RP which was a bit more powerful but less detailed.

Well after many, many years being happy with my older RP3 with 300 arm it has finally gone to be replaced with a PJ 1x carbon. Decided upon this a opposed to a new RP3 or upgrade to my current RP3 as I found the PJ was able to extract more detail from the vinyl than the RP, all be it delivered...
