Guys thanks so much for these comments. Went into a few shops in London and tried some speakers out. think I'm gonna go for 2x PA type speakers and one of the Yamaha HS8s. seems like if I want to get some decent volume and bass I'm gonna need the bigger cones and power of an active speaker...

Thanks mate for that info! my current m33i's are floorstanders. Those yamahas you recommend are just shelf speakers. Will they be loud enough? I thought floorstanders produce more noise/base because of their size?
