Which receiver would pair the best

I like the sound of NAD you have - it's a classic (perhaps the best NAD ever - some say).

Pioneer VSX LX303 + bookshelf speakers for music?

The thread starter mentioned about adding a sub on another thread, so I was trying to be helpful...

Pioneer VSX LX303 + bookshelf speakers for music?

Monitor Audio sub sounds wonderful to my ears, if you can stretch your budget somewhat.

    B&W 606/607 sucks, not worth 5 stars

I too found B&Ws hard to match gears - me thinks they can sound good with the right synergy, especially on classical music... They got violins right to my ears, but with the wrong system matching, they can sound annoying.

It's all about system matching - I found out too late...

Thanks penguin for your wisdom! I never knew that - it makes sense what you are saying. Today I found another synergy with Nad receiver and PSB speakers. I heard that they are the same company - perhaps they are made to compliment each other. They sure sound good and are very reasonably priced...

Gray - each to his/her own - I suppose your cup of tea is not mine, but that's okay I suppose - right?

Speakers for laptop + turntable - Audioengine A2+ or?

You might want to add a sub unless you get a floor stander speakers - it adds something quite pleasant in my humble opinion.

I foolishly spent as much as a luxury car on my main system and I just changed the speakers on my 2nd system from the Paradigm Studio to the Monitor Audio Bronze and I am enjoying the dark and warm British sound so much that I started wondering why I spent so much on my main... I had it...

Speakers for laptop + turntable - Audioengine A2+ or?

I agree that you must hear them and choose for yourself, but I just got Vanatoo speakers and they are said to out play the audio engine for a little more money...the zero model also supports a sub and has a DAC built in like the audio engine.
