Is Freesat recording still worth it?

everything seems to be working as it should again, so we'll see how it goes. There's loads of stuff yet to be watched, and don't want to lose it. We do occasionally get brief (annoying) pixellation, with sound loss, which I presume to be HD issues, to be expected after ten years. I see there is...

Is Freesat recording still worth it?

Thanks, Lizzie Wuzzie, I think my telly does have that facility, but oddly enough the issue seems to have resolved itself ,possibly, as two programs have been recorded, so fingers crossed. Since those terrific folk at WNF let me win a Freesat recorder many years ago, it's been in regular use...

Is Freesat recording still worth it?

My Humax 1100S recorder has just decided to stop recording programmes which have been recording series with no issues. It's ten years old, and been handy to use separately from Freeview, and we're wondering whether it's worth replacing it? I see that there are still Freesat recorders available...

Was about to suggest getting an Arcam 640Pans sending it to Arkless Electronics, and you will be very happy. As am I. Never mind.

Can we hear sound above 20kHz!

I think it proves that we can detect the effect, if not the actual sound, and the effects of sound across most frequencies is something we enjoy listening to, isn't it? Is it the audible equivalent of light frequencies? We can't see them but know that they're there, having an effect. And my...

Can we hear sound above 20kHz!

I have a speaker test L.P. record issued by JBL, where a demonstration is provided on just this subject. On one track sound is recorded normally, and on the second track all frequencies above 20 kHz are removed, and there is a noticeable difference. Look the album out and try it yourself. At...

    Speakers break in period

My SCM11s didn't sound as good as hoped for when I got them home, but after a long time, certainly 100 hours and probably more ( I didn't keep count), they now sound great, so persevere. Speakers are mechanical devices, so I kept the volume at normal levels, only raising it for 15-20 minutes at...

ChordOhmic plugs don't fit in my amp

If you have some pliers, try gently compressing the leading end of the spring into the body, then insert plug into socket? A couple of goes should do it.

What's your best all in one HiFi System?

But the Uniti Star also plays CDs, so is more of an all-time rounder?

    Nostalgia strikes....

My first system was Nytech CA202,, Rega Planar 3, and HB1 speakers, and having moved on from that was curious as to how the new HB1s would sound with my current Uniti Star, but the new price put me right off. Ah well.
