Move hifi from tropics to continental Europe

Thanks for the input, I am concerned if the hydrometry change could impact the wooden cabinets ?

Well they will ship so 3 weeks in a container, hopefully that is slow enough :) Was thinking of putting dehumidifiers in the cranes...

Move hifi from tropics to continental Europe

I am going to move my beloved hifi from the very humid Singapore climate to relatively dry Switzerland, and am a little concerned about the impact the change in humidity might have on the equipment, particularly my beloved Kef Reference speakers. Thoughts ? Not sure I will get any informed...

Amarra software with IRC (room correction)

I downloaded a demo of the above a couple of days ago and I it seems an interesting piece of software. I have used Amarra hifi for a while (as a license was given with my DAC), so I am curious about the room correction software provided by the full version. Sonic Studio has integrated DIRAC...

    The Kef Reference thread

Tri-wiring was not a practical option cost wise, so went ahead and got Cardas jumper cables this week-end. Bought them as cost was reasonable. Not sure if they make a difference yet, but they look very solid :)

Back into hifi world after a break - Best deal I can get on 2.5m GR cable is equivalent to 1200 GBP (they are ex-demo). I am tempted, as I like what they do. Wondering whether I should get them to redo the termination to tri-wire, which would resolve the jumper question. Any thoughts ?

Stupid question on Cardas jumper cables: standard has spades on both ends. With Kef reference can you use that ? I took a look at the speaker terminals and seems that they are designed to use spade on one side and banana, not spades in and out. I am keen to give them a try :)

No I haven't made a decision yet, and have not pursued the links - Been busy during the week-end so couldn't focus on the SCs !

I haven't discussed price yet but if I go ahead I hope that I can argue that given the model is discontinued they shoud give me the demo set at a very good price... Not sure I can get GR jumper cables though, but we will see !

I have them on loan for a week, and so far I am pleased overall. Currently listening to Keith Jarett, a recording that I find sometimes tiring as it is too bright to my taste, and now comes across smoother if you see what I mean... One thing I was wondering about, do you have experience with...

    The Kef Reference thread

The reviewer in the link below loved Nordost SC with GR interconnect, not the other way around... http://www.ultraaudio.com/equipment/cardas_golden_reference.htm For me initial impressions (but is it just my imagination ?): the soundstage is bigger, the bass slightly fuller, and overall the...
