Love my Dev 200.. I'm using an Auralic Aries as a source.. sounds killer! In fact I love my 200 so much it may morph into a 400 :-)

So for whatever reason ProAc decided to replace the D40R with the D48R, I wondering if anyone has heard the D48R and could speak to the sonic differences between them.. Thanks!

Agreed. Just seems like they spent a lot of time and money to develop these new carbon drivers, just to go back to drivers that "appear" to be similar to their older ones..

Well it seems a litle strange to me that they would go back to using a similar cone material that they were using 10 years ago? The old Response 2.5 used a Carbon Fiber/Paper Pulp type cone..

Thanks David.. I bought the D30R because I've always been a Proac fan and I like the way the ribbon cured the slight brightness I've found in the Proac soft dome tweeters. I've also considered an upgrade to the D40R, but as you mentioned they're now discontinued. I'm not so sure what's going on...

David since I know of no other dealers that carry both Proac and Kef I was wondering if you could give an opinion of the Kef Ref 3 versus the Proac D30R.. I currently have the D30R and I'm considering a move up to the Kef. Yes I realize the Kef are more expensive but we all know more money isn't...

The Ribbon tweeters in the new models fixes that, but Proac haven't fit those to any of the smaller speakers yet

Damn.. I was really interested in what you think of them.. I've got my eye on a set of the Reference 3 as a possible upgrade to my Proac D30R.. I'll be driving them with a Devialet 200.. Which I think will be a better match than the Proac's.. And to those that are saying they're over priced...

Has anyone gotten a good listen to any of the new Reference speakers??

It's a toss up between my current ProAc D30R and a pair Apogee Mini Grands back in the day..

I'd be surprised if ProAc didn't send out the D30R for reviews. It's certainly an important product for Proac since it offers a lot of the performance of the bigger D40R at a bit more of an affordable price point..

I'm rather surprised that none of the new Proac's have gotten any reviews. The D30R has been out for a year now.. And the D20R has been out for a bit now too. So I'm a bit surprised that even the British magazines haven't reviewed them...
