Another issue is that often chunky gold binding posts on speakers then end up with thin strips of metal usually bolted onto the binding posts inside with tiny machine bolts then on to a PCB crossover with thin of copper tracks - Also I assume for speed of assembly often connected to the drivers...

Going back to the Chord Ethernet, having spend many days & nights in (years!) server rooms if you download music from Linn or elsewhere you need to know I haven't yet seen any esoteric cables anywhere, so the music than ends in in your computer will be seriously degraded by the CAT5 (or less)...

No I wouldn't use analogue outs, the true owner of the X2 does feel a little annoyed though & for him the jury is still out as to whether his outlay was worth it on sound alone - I prefer using the TV as an interface as the iPad app is less than perfect on the Cyrus, don't know why they don't...

Yes i appreciate that but should a £55 streamer sound the same as a £999 streamer? Is there anything to be gained with the £950 to upgrade to the Cyrus X2?
