    Spartan 15 Phono amp

The Spartan 15 by Michael Fidler has some very good reviews out there. You will not see him or his products mentioned in the mainstream " Hi-Fi" press !! https://michaelfidler.com/products/spartan/spartan-15-moving-magnet-phono-stage/ I am looking to replace my Rega MM mk 3 with either the...

    Marantz CD player

Before you buy the Marantz 6007, try the Rotel CD11 Tribute. I demo'd at Richer sounds against the 6007 and the Rotel was way nicer sounding. The marantz was far to bright for both myself and my demoing mates ears. I was rather surprised given the many accolades awarded to the Marantz, but no...

Rega Elex-r owners, Rega Elex-R volume control issue.....or maybe not?

I agree totally. One quick stab at the button will do nothing. I think I did read a review somewhere where the volume adjustment was criticised on both the new Elex and Elicit amps...

Just press the button and keep the pressure on and the volume will smoothly increase / decrease. Superb Amp with impressive sound and good onboard features. Love it...

    Amp Upgrade

You can pick up the brilliant Rega ElexR mk 3 for around £800 now. ( Doug Brady has one). That has a phono stage and is a killer amp. If you can stretch to £1200 then the new Rega Elex R mk 4, again with a brill phono stage and the addition of a good quality onboard DAC.

    Chord Qutest

Thanks as always for all your varying answers to my question. Yes, the Chord is expensive but continually gets such praise from so many reviewers etc. It is pricey coming out a bit more than what I paid for the Rega Elex mk 4 amp. The dac on the Rega sounds great with slower tracks and vocals...

    Chord Qutest

Evening, I am thinking of purchasing a Chord Qutest DAC. It will replace the Dac in my Rega Elex integrated. I will use it with an Audiolab CDT 6000. Will the Chord be a significant improvement on the Rega Dac and is the CDT 6000 a good enough source to justify the Chords price. Evening and thanks.

    Rega Mk 3 phono stage

Evening, I have recently taken delivery of a new Rega Elex-R mk 4 amp. My older system did not have an phono card installed hence the off board stage. My question is: As the new integrated Elex has a good phono stage within, shall I connect my P3 to that and sell the Mk 3 phono stage? Will the...

    Integrated Amplifier

Too late !!. I had the Audiolab pair advertised on Gumtree. I did not expect them to go so quick. I had a "reasonable" price for the pair so after lots of internet " research", I have ordered a new Rega Elex Mk 4. There was nowhere local to demo so I have taken the risk it will pair with my...

    Integrated Amplifier

This is all good stuff. Thanks so much for this information I was unaware of !! Listening now to my 1999 Audiolab pairing, I am thinking, I may keep them and see how the Cyrus CDi performs with them. I can then buy the Zen Bluetooth and save a shed of money. Cheers.

    Integrated Amplifier

Cheers. I will certainly take a look at this and may end up keeping my lovely old Audiolab amps for a while longer. I often wonder how much better a modern £1000 integrated would be than my current set up. Thanks again for your input.

    Integrated Amplifier

I have not considered that option or heard of the Zen Blue. How would I connect that to my old Audiolab set up? Plug into the analogue inputs of the 8000S? Thanks for that advice.
