How best to import music to itunes for use on a variety of devices

Good Evening, I have recently purchased an iPhone 5 and an iMac, my philosophy being to simplify my computing and technology set up. I have a CD collection which a couple of years ago I ripped to FLAC. My wife has on her windows laptop a variety of mp3 music. She also has an iPod shuffle but...

2.1 for movies and music v. 5.1 - speaker placement

Aim for a pair of stereo speakers that have good imaging qualities. As you will be adding a sunwoofer anyway you won't nees satellites that produce lots of bass as well. Maybe worth a look is AVI's Neutron 2.1? I used to have some mission floorstanders either side of my TV and did find dialogue...

Q-acoustics 2010 enough for bedroom? Alternatives?

Can't comment on the B&Ws, but if you go down the second hand route I'm sure there are plenty of good options. Maybe some Mission 750 or 751 could be worth a look. Personally I'd go for the Q Acoustics as you'll know exactly what you're getting and can listen to them in a shop.

Q-acoustics 2010 enough for bedroom? Alternatives?

I can't really comment on the sound quality, but if it's a small room I'd go for smaller speakers and add a subwoofer later if i felt i needed a bit more bottom end. Q Acoustics 2010 or 2010i i'm sure would be spot on, but I'd also give the kef Q100 a listen. I heard the Q300 with the Marantz...

My DigitalStream DHR8205U has died :-(

Hi All, As there are some on here who know and understand all about the Digitalstream products I thought i put up a quick post for any tips on a last ditch attempt to revive my box. I don't really want to lose all the recorded content, but mainly I don't want to replace it with another make as...

    Looking for a soundbar

I've recently bought Q Acoustics TV2 and am very pleased with it. it has the advantage of swiveling with the TV which is useful for us as we rotate the screen depending on where we are sitting and how many people are watching. The sound is very good as far as I'm concerned. I used to have a pair...

Modern thin TVs with poor sound

I have a Panasonic TV from a few years ago and the built in speakers are ok, but no more. Vocals are clear and there is no harshness or tinniness really, it's just a very 'thin' sound i.e. no bass and very narrow as the speakers are quite close together at the bottom. After much deliberation I...

I need HIFI in my life, but...

If you rearrange the room as above, perhaps you could experiement with some acoustic panels behin each speaker to cut transmission through the wall. Also, if your neighbour has been nice to you perhaps you could do an experiment together to determine what volume level is too loud for her. Then...

I need HIFI in my life, but...

How will something like the Marantz you mention prevent speakers from being knocked over? Maybe you should be looking at wall mounting some small spaekers and adding a subwoofer, or perhaps some compact floorstanders would be more stable. If it were me and i wanted to stick with separates, I'd...
