Listening to music on Headphones what can I do with £1500

Little Dot CD transport £200 Little Dot DAC £200 Little Dot Mk IV headphone amp £200 then spend the rest on a decent pair of cans, or, for different music types, different cans. Stax would be hard to beat at that price, or...

    Musical Fidelity A1 (2008) Amplifier

Any opinions on the Quad 303? I'm considering biamping my speakers. Obviously MF power amp would be the way to go, but I've been offered a 303 at a decent price...

If your kit were a celebrity, who would it be?

In a 1.30am cider-borne epiphany, (ie I'm a bit ******) I realised that my new ProAc Tablette 8 Ref Sigs are the hifi equivalent of Reece Witherspoon: tiny, beautiful, but not obviously so, hardworking and capable of turning something rubbish into something not quite so rubbish. My Little Dot...

    Musical Fidelity A1 (2008) Amplifier

Depends on budget. My proacs are lovely with the MF stuff (£600 s/h). The Quad 11Ls they replaced were also pretty good, though not close to the Proacs in terms of clarity and detail. Then again, they're only about £200 s/h.

    Which (if any) power amp?

Only had it a couple of days, but very very impressed so far.

Er silly me. (And not for the first time as you know)

I tried to convince my wife that I didn't have a drinking and ebay problem and that I had fully intended to bid on the Paul Reed Smith guitar/old Greek bouzouki/silver teapot that arrived in the post. My cover was blown when a copy of 'Achy Breaky Heart' turned up on the doorstep.

The kids I am meant to be teaching pretending to do the work that they are meant to be doing.

It's funny - eBay are always going on about protecting bidders but there's no feature that stops you bidding after 2 bottles of wine... Perhaps a USB breathalyser key?

    Which (if any) power amp?

I've just come into a bit of cash and have been hit by a bad case of upgraditis. Just bought a new DAC and speakers (as below) and am now wondering if it's worth going for a power amp to biamp the proacs, (given that they're tiny). Any opinions? If so, which? I'm more than happy to go...

    Speaker help please

I've just upgraded the speakers that go with my MF3/3.2 to ProAc Tablette 8 Reference Signatures. They're tiny and stunning. In the process of going back through my entire CD collection and listening anew.

Best BD Player produce the best CD Audio sound

To add to the list of cheapish DACs - Little Dot now produce one (the imaginatively titled DAC-1) which is nothing short of brilliant. Costs just under £200 with P&P from eBay, has 4 inputs (BNC, Coax, Toslink and USB) and balanced and RCA output. Got mine linked up to CD player and computer.

    High time for new speakers

Quad 11Ls are available quite cheaply now - I'm very happy with mine!
