WHF Website Ongoing Problems and Solutions

Web developers? Really? To simply switch off the daft options like posting the language in each new thread, the appalling yellow highlighter or the double linepacing on CR, etc? A lively forum is the lifeblood of a site & this one has been neglected for years. Firstly by the use of software...

WHF Website Ongoing Problems and Solutions

Laid up with a bad back so out of boredom, thought I'd pop by & check out the improvements. I guess they're all too busy with the 2015 awards now...

WHF Website Ongoing Problems and Solutions

I've got some "solutions": https://www.avforums.com/categories/audio-electronics-forums.520/ http://www.pinkfishmedia.net/forum/index.php?s=0fcdb62eb5188e1e26ff512f62b3bf20 http://www.hifiwigwam.com/forum.php?s=304937638179de3f8b673ce6ed59c870 And that will be my final contribution, at...

    Room Set Up

Just having a quick plough, currently in the Monitor Positioning article. That would be a good trick if you could pull it off. I think you mean "I’m a bit closer to my speakers than they are to each other". ;)

    Welcome to the new whathifi.com!

Must say it's quite some achivement to take a poor web site with the naffest forum software I've ever encountered & actually make it worse. Given the previously stated fact that everything is now below the 2014 awards in prority, perhaps there will be a new category for Worst AV Web Site. "And...

    Simple Audio Roomplayer

From what I've seen of a farly long running thread on AVF, the Roomplayer should really have been named Manana. As it seems that everything is WIP. They launched it with the digital outputs disabled bespite the specs to the contrary. Then realised they couldn't make it work so had to launch a...

    Some help on speaker switch

Specs say it's rated for 150W: http://www.qed.co.uk/switching_units/switching_and_control_units/ss40_4_way_speaker_switch.html As for whether it makes any difference to the sound, you're better placed than anyone to mak that judgement.

    Setting Time on Denon DM30

Yep, lovely little box for what it is. Mine's been out of use for a few years now but can't quite bring myself to part with it. There's a common fault with grease contaminating the volume control so it only works properly with the remote. Fix is here for future reference.

    Setting Time on Denon DM30

& report back. If it doesn't work I'll see if I can find my manual. 1. Press the menu/set button on component to select display mode 2. Use the +/- button to set the time mode (AM 12:00 blinks) 3. Press the menu/set button for at least 2 seconds (the hour will start blinking) 4. Use the...

    Straws in bass port......

I like the idea of speaker manufacturers making what people want/need. But it does then beg the question why so many keep producing designs that not only can't be used close to boundary walls, but demand totally unrealistic amounts of clearance. I appreciate that the UK is densely populated &...
