I also have one of the MS23Bs which I bought through Amazon. It blew the Project phono stage I was using out of the water. I replaced the valves with JJs and it improved even more. I was using it with a Rega RP6 and Exact 2 cartridge.

Several people have recommended to me to get the Hicap. I wouldn't have thought the external PSU would make all that much difference, but it obviously does.

It sounds dull and lots of bass. No top end at all. Like the tweeters have blown. The amp sounds great using the other inputs with a phono preamp. It is just this one input.
