    2002 v 2020 Roksan amp

Yes, I only use the streamer with Tidal. Surprised the 20 year old Roksan stands up to near £1000 amps. I see plenty of them going for£250 so assumed even a £500 amp would be an improvement? Are you saying a Cambridge wouldn’t be much of an upgrade?

    2002 v 2020 Roksan amp

I bought a pair of Dali Oberon 5s and a Bluesound Node streamer and they’re powered by a Roksan Kandy III bought in 2002. The thing is, I have no problems with the sound but can’t help wondering if I’d be even happier with an upgrade to the amp? I’m a huge fan of plenty of controlled bass...

hardwire playback from Macbook Air to hi-fi

Still not quite sure what's going on here. Most of the listening fraternity are siding with DACs, so I'm going to explain a little bit more about my set-up. Qobuz streaming service, anyone use it?

I've been using Spotify for about 6 months now. Lovin' it. Playing it through soundbar and JBL Radius through MacBook Air / iPad. Favourite bit - finding new music: Polica, London Grammar, Telepopmusik, Crystal Castles, Alt J, Parra for Cuva (awesome). Then reinstated Hi-Fi, after long storage...

hardwire playback from Macbook Air to hi-fi

At the moment I am listening to Spotify 320k via a 3.5mm headphone jack to red and white phono leads through my line 1 input into Roksan Kandy Mk1. I also listen through headphones. Would a USB DAC be of any benefit to me, and if so, why? Would it improve the MP3 playback or would it only help...

    B&W A7, I suppose...

This is my 'new member' post, and it was suggested I repost it here: First notion of hi-fi was back in the day in 'can't recall name of shop' in St John's centre, Liverpool. There was this Revox lateral arm turntable sat on a stack of silver and playing Tomita's Star Wars. Used to ask the sales...

    Best way to surrender

First notion of hi-fi was back in the day in 'can't recall name of shop' in St John's centre, Liverpool. There was this Revox lateral arm turntable sat on a stack of silver and playing Tomita's Star Wars. Used to ask the sales assistant to keep playing it back, just to hear the 'incredibly...
