Wiim Pro plus or Cambridge Audio Mxn10

That’s an interesting option, but at around £600 combined creates another rabbit hole to go down and would bring Bluesound Node X and Eversolo into consideration. TBH I’m pretty happy with how the Pro Plus sounds with my setup, it’s still within window of return with Amazon so I’m more inclined...

Wiim Pro plus or Cambridge Audio Mxn10

Does an external PSU make a noticeable difference to the unit?

Wiim Pro plus or Cambridge Audio Mxn10

With ultra due for release in next couple of months, I’m thinking may be worth the wait to get aluminium case, screen and probably better DAC? Why do you say no to MNX10? (I haven’t heard on yet but interested to hear comparisons from anyone who has and compared to the Pro plus)

Wiim Pro plus or Cambridge Audio Mxn10

Having lived a Wiim pro plus for 2 weeks now, I’m debating whether to keep it, look at the Cambridge mxn10 or wait for the Wiim Ultra? I have been really impressed by the Pro plus but now that I’ve scratched that itch I’m wondering if spending almost double on the CA will yield a big and...

Connecting iphone to Amp for streaming

So I got my hands on a Wiim Pro Plus from Amazon and have been trying it out with Tidal and Qobuz for the last 2 days on my setup which includes a Rega Brio Amp and Fyne Audio F302i speakers (Also Technics SL-P 720 CD Player) Some initial thoughts. 1. From taking it out of the box to having...

Connecting iphone to Amp for streaming

Has anyone bought a Wiim from Amazon and returned it? I try it and don't get on with it I don't really want to be stuck with it - assume no issue with it being opened, packaging seals broken etc?

Connecting iphone to Amp for streaming

My current system comprises a vintage Technics SLP720 CD Player, AT Turntable, Brio-R Amp and Fyne Audio F302i speakers. I want to add the ability to stream high quality music files and bearing in mind that my CD player is pushing 35 years old I want to plan for its replacement with a newer...

Connecting iphone to Amp for streaming

I think the £10 cable might be the starting point or the entry into the rabbit hole! And then build from there! I like the idea of a nice DAC and am drawn to the idea of buying a used Rega to match my Brio, but can I get the iPhone connected to it? (What hifi review suggests the usb connection...

Will something like ifi Go Link work for connecting iphone 15 to a Rega Brio or is the output from this only really suitable for headphones?

Streamer or DAC for used with iPhone?

I’m thinking the DAC Is the way to go as I have a means of streaming in the phone. What could I buy for the price of a Wiim Pro that would give me better quality? Im also willing to go used

Streamer or DAC for used with iPhone?

I would like to add the ability to access online music to my system and don’t mind having my iPhone 15 connected by cable. Would I be better looking at a DAC and connecting the iPhone to it? Would this provide better quality than something like a Wiim Pro Plus?

    Rega Brio and Phono

I have a Rega phono MkIII and was thinking of changing my old Denon PMA250SE for a used Rega Brio R. Should I keep my Rega Phono and use it with the Brio or sell it? Would the built in phono stage in the Brio be as good as the separate Rega Phono?

    Amplifier upgrade, used or new?

Andy, Im pretty happy with my Denon to be honest, but having just bought the Fyne Speakers as an upgrade to some old Mordaunt Short MS10i, I'm wondering if they are now out-classing the amp and I could maybe squeeze a bit more sonic performance out of the system with an upgrade

    Amplifier upgrade, used or new?

Matthew, thanks- yes I was thinking that the gain in sound quality might not be that great with a new £350 Amp. My PMA250SE would have retailed at around £200 when I bought it, so probably comparable to a new model in the £300-£400 range today. I think used is the way to go and was reading...
