    Thank you for your advice, I will look into the soundbar option, I think that there may be a gap in the market for this type of need. The same applies to telephones, for which there is not much choice for the older consumer.

    Mum has suddenly lost most of her hearing and she really relies on her tv. Until her hearing aids are sorted, I need to get her a tv with good speakers. I would appreciate some advice. Thank you. *smile*

    Thank you for your advice. I'm still open to ideas....I'm not sure that I want a smart tv or 3D. I've read that Pioneer are re-introducing their t.v.sales into the Scandinavian countries, but the UK is not till next year.....but timing for me :doh:

    :help: I have sound but no picture. Have been told that it is probably a Power Supply problem, but may also turn out to be something else. Initial cost of this is £500 (!) may be more if something else is found faulty. My set is about 10 years old now. Should I go ahead as it is a wonderful...
