    Unitiqute or Peachtree

goes to show how much is in the eye of the beholder. I much prefer the Qute to the Peach looks-wise. I auditioned the Naim and wasn't blown away, haven't heard the Peach.

    cyp or not.

I can't honestly tell you, but the Cyp product I bought about five years ago was pretty basic. It did enough of the job to avoid trading standards having to get involved but it did so with no panache, kind of like the difference between a DVD and a set of 'bunny ear' aerials for your TV input...

Mysterious Musical Fidelity product spotted in car...

Pretty much has to be a streaming DAC product, interesting to see what it's going to go head to head with.

    Cheapish amp and dac

It would be better if they were smaller, but at least unobtrusive should do it. There is certainly no shortage of amps in the space, it's ones that work well together I suppose I curious about. Maybe I could get the rDac and second hand Arcam amp.

    Cheapish amp and dac

So I'm looking for a cheapish amp and dac combo for the kitchen. I've got a netbook there just now that feeds a five year old Denon mini system that I've never really liked and onto some ten year old Elac speakers which I have to say are really great. The sound is pretty awful in total though...

pioneer bdp lx 52 or lx 53??

I just got the 52 as well. The 53 is not the simple evolution of the 52 that the series number would suggest.

Amp upgrade possibly the worst time

Hmm, fair point. If it was me, I'd put up with swapping cables around I think, or find a wee switching block.

Amp upgrade possibly the worst time

To the best of my knowledge you only need a 3D amp so it can pass through the signal - it's not doing anything. Get one of the amps you call out and just hook your source straight to the 3D display, when you get it.

    Projector Screens

I thought the newer Harmony 1s did RF too? Anyway, there just isn't enough information there to really know what downsides there may or may not be. I'd say though that you're better spending a limited budget on good screen fabric than on bad electric motors.

    Quad components

It seems like it has been a while since Quad released any new products (other than speakers), anyone know if there is anything in the works?

    Projector Demo Advice

I'd say demo lots of grey and off white. Or frankly almost anything that comes in almost any monochrome with a little variation.

Extension Building - Home Cinema From Scratch

If you're building the room don't do wireless speakers, just run the cabling in the wall while you can. I would wall mount the screen, and make it about teh same size as teh wall allows, but think carefully about the colour of the walls and how much light will be thrown back off them. If you're...
