You could buy my Electro amp off Gumtree and something like second hand Arcam DAC and get an astonishing sound for the money! Then upgrade DAC later if you need but will sound great like that! Much harder to upgrade amp if you go for combo. 120 watt so no need to change the amp ever really...

I can't see any reason why it wouldn't work well with those other components. I found Electro very unfussy it just sounds great. The PI - 1 got 4 star review simply because it has half the power of the PI - 2. The PI - 2 is fantastic. Mine is on on Gumtree for £1395 but i'll take £1300 and it...

yeah he said he tested them before he sent them and they were fine. He had insurance on the parcel so may be able to claim on that.. Cheers anyway

Yeah. The CD player works fine I've tried it in my other amp.. I tried the HK CD player and my iPod through the amp using CD and Tuner inputs. They both had the same symptoms. At first only the right speaker was just audible at mid to max volume and seems to be either badly distorted or badly...

Yeah I've seen a fair bit of praise so thought is give it a go.. But it doesn't work :doh: Any suggestions??

Got my HK6550 and HD7425 today :cheer: I'll report back later to see how it sounds through my ProAcs and budget Kefs :rockout:

I just bought a Harmon Kardon HK6550 and CD player for £150 and i'll run through some free Kefs (off a friend) think they about £50 new.. Will report how it sounds using my mac mini and eventually a Sonos connect as source :cheers:

Start with a NAS and secon hand Sonos connect, then if you feel it's the way you want to go upgrade from there..

Nice look forward to it.. I wouldn't go for the 10 because I want a more powerfull amp and surely is dependant on the speakers it's driving? Anyway ill demo it in a couple weeks and post my findings :cheers:
