Thanks for all the advice and suggestions, much appreciated. I went with the Roth pair in the end with a good deal from Richer sounds, matching them via QED cables and Cambridge banana plugs so hoping for some nice noises when i get around to setting it all up. regards Badpenny...

No, i didn't have the chance to audition any speakers the unit was bought for me as a present and it was assumed by the buyer, poor thing, that speakers were built in as with a radio. thanks for the advice and suggestions...
