I ran my H80 with a pair of Q Acoustics 2010i for some time, with a plan to upgrade the speakers at a later time. I am not able to help with your choice regarding speakers, but I was very happy with the sound of the cheaper speaker while saving for something better.

Thanks for great insights. I guess drummerman sums it up pretty well. I see there are many variables to this, but I reckon appropriate handling of bass for your room might be a primary issue when finding the right speaker.

Reading through the massive Hegel threads in Scandinavian forums, Dynaudio seems to be a great match with Hegel amps (they gets the most recommendations), controlling the bass of these speakers. Of course, many other amps might match well with the Dynaudios as well.
