    FILTERS AND CONDITIONERS

Not by a Luddite such as myself, I’m sure it could be done mind.

    New power amplifier purchased

You’re probably right, but I can safely say that my system sounds excellent and I’m very happy with it. I plan to add a valve amp in the future but I won’t be moving on my current amp, I just want to try a valve amp. I’ll probably buy used and if I don’t like it I’ll move it one with little to...

    FILTERS AND CONDITIONERS

I bought one last week and it made no difference that I can hear in my system. I had an Olsen previous which I only replaced because the lead was about about 7m long and looked unseemly

Same, and have never bought anything I have actively disliked.

KEF LS50 Meta - which of these amps?

Cyrus One - 100wpc - drives the LS50 's with ease and can be bought relatively cheaply used. I ran the LS50's with the Cyrus for quite a while and was very happy with it. Some people say the combination is bright, most of those have never heard it and are basing it on the Cyrus 'house sound'.

Question What's your next HiFi purchase?

No, as I said in my first response; no issues. It is IMO a very nice turntable, much improved by moving on the 2M Red as quickly as possible.

Question What's your next HiFi purchase?

No none. I have changed the cartridge to the AT VM95ML and added some isonoe acoustic feet. It’s sounding great and is built like a tank. I’m really happy with it. I’m using the phono stage on my Lyngdorf 1120 amp but the built-in phono stage on the 1500C is decent. I never liked the 2M Red...

what do you think of quality of Harbeth ?

That’s an absolute liberty, when you’re spending top dollar on a new product it should be pristine from both an operational and aesthetic perspective. I’d send them back.

    Subwoofer.... Jl Audio vs Rel?

I have 2 x REL T5i’s and they are excellent for music. Go as low as I need them to and I have them integrated to perfection thanks to Room Perfect on the Lyngdorf 1120 amp. even before I have the room correction I was extremely happy with them. I haven’t heard the JL so can’t comment on them.

    NAIM Vs Hegel Vs Lyngdorf

I’ve had mine for 2 weeks now and I love it. the way Room Perfect integrates the 2 subs is unreal, the bass is fast, taunt and has never sounded better. It’s sounds great across the full range. Very happy.

    NAIM Vs Hegel Vs Lyngdorf

He ended up buying the Lyngdorf after a home demo! "".......if my choice right now is H120 vs 1120, it’s an easy call. The H120 is a fantastic product as are all the Hegel products I’ve heard but in my room, the lack of furniture and large windows has revealed the value of room correction. Even...

"This speaker doesn't need a subwoofer". And why it does.

Totally agree, adding my two Rel T5I’s with my LS50’s improved the system no end. Improvement at lower volume levels was one of the biggest advantages.

Question Amplifier with more precise volume control than Marantz PM6006

Exactly what I did with mine, was really never an issue for me when I had the Marantz.

    LS50 Wireless II

I can’t speak for the wireless version but adding a sub to the passive version definitely improved listening at lower levels, it seemed to fill out the whole range and not just the bottom end. Adding the subs to the LS50’s (non Meta) was the best money I spent on my set up.
