Vinyl to MP3 turntable advice please?

Yes, that's one of the ones that I was thinking about, but then got a bit conerned by the negative reviews. But, there are a lot of positive reviews as well, so there are obviously a bunch of people happy with the end result. At £30 it's cheaper than a dedicated option like the Rega Fono mini or...

Vinyl to MP3 turntable advice please?

So, actually looking at my laptop, it seems it does not have an audio line in, only a 'Mic' line in. So will I need to by an RCA to USB converter. There seems to be many of these around all in the ball park of about £40. Generally they seem to get reasonable reviews, but then there are...

Vinyl to MP3 turntable advice please?

Sorry to jump in / hijack on this... My situation is somewhat similar but I already have some of the consituent parts in place so would be looking at the best way to (at a reasonable price <£200) plug the gap from vinyl to digital. I have a Rega RP3, Rega Fono and Arcam AVR400 and a reasonably...

Which tablet for a 16yr old?

For Word and Excel and to get the feel of a laptop, I would consider Windows Nokia with the power keyboard, which has built in battery for extra use time. See...

    Playing vinyl through av amplifier

My AV (Arcam AVR400) does not have a Phono input. My set up is Turntable to Phono Stage (Rega Fono) to line level input on the AVR. Works a treat with no discernable differences in volume levels.

iPlayer For Windows Phone 8 Released

It's about time there was some form of iplayer. No iPlayer would have been a deal breaker for those curious in Windows, but afraid to take the plunge. Yes, it's a browser based app, but as long as it does what it says on the tin, that's fine with me. It looks quite slick. It is however missing...

Have anyone used Denon, Yamaha or Pioneer app, WinPhone 8?

I have an Arcam AVR400 which has internet radio and can stream music from my NAS. There are a few UPnP apps in the windows phone app store, the best one (most usable) I have found is an app called 4U2Stream. It does a reasonable job of controlling streaming from the NAS to the AVR. (tested on a...

Nokia Lumia 920 drop / destruction test

I was also surprised by the comments about build quality in the review. I mentioned this in the "my opinion" section of the review. Also with the 920 having won so many awards http://conversations.nokia.com/2012/12/31/12-awards-the-nokia-lumia-920-won-in-2012/ its hard to see exactly what made...

    My Lumia 920 has arrived!!

I Know! I must admit to being pretty bowled over by Windowsphone 8 and especially all the effort Nokia is putting in to differenciate themselves from everyone else.

    My Lumia 920 has arrived!!

Just stumbled upon this brilliant photosharing app http://conversations.nokia.com/2012/11/30/photobeamer-the-magic-picture-show/ allows you to "beam" photos from your phone to any device with a web browser.

    My Lumia 920 has arrived!!

You can't switch things like bluetooth, wifi etc on / off without actually entering the settings as far as I am aware. you can tell if they are switched on or off though, without entering the settings. If you swipe down from the top, you will see a bunch of notification icons drop down...

    My Lumia 920 has arrived!!

Also, I take it you have downloaded the connectivity shortcuts app. This makes getting to the wifi and other connectivity settings a bit quicker 'cos you can put a wifi tile direclty on your home screen.

    My Lumia 920 has arrived!!

In the recent numbers list. Rather than tapping the name of the person in the list, tap the little phone icon to the left. This will then dial that number directly, rather than open the business card. Hope this makes sense.
