    Home cinema cable length advice

Thanks for everyones responses. Think I will go for the longer to the rears, and then the same length for the front three. This then got me thinking of another question, sorry! Is it best to keep the same speaker cable throughout? ie for all speakers? Or as from what i am hearing the rears...

    Home cinema cable length advice

Thanks for your response, they do help. I also understand your comment about this turning in to a debate about cable lengths needing to be the same or not. If I read your comments correctly, there should be no issue with using 8m each for the surround pair, and then say 3m each for the left...

    Home cinema cable length advice

Hi. I am looking at upgrading my home cinem and have a question on speaker cable lengths. The existing setup I have is an 'all-in-one' Sony system, so cables came with it. The surround speakers are going to need approximately 8m each, and plan to keep these two lengths the same. My question...

    Q Acoustics 2000I or Q7000?

Hi, I'm relatively new to Hime Cinema. Had a Sony, all in one amp and speaker package for some years, and now going to ugrade to something better. Amp I am going for is the Onkyo TX-NR616, and am choosing between the speakers, either Q Acoustics 2000I or Q7000. I know the Q7000 are more...

    Onkyo TX-NR616 or TX-NR609

I have been looking at getting a new A/V receiver, and had narrowed down to the Onkyo TX-NR609. With the new receivers coming out, am wondering to stick with this or go for the TX-NR616? What extra am I going to get for going for the 616?

    New Onkyo using existing speakers

Planning to mount the Q Acoustics on the wall, so keeps them away from the B&W's. Just still the choice of whether to wait and save to buy the speakers, or try and use what I've got (B&W's) and then buy pair of satellites, sub and centre speakers, but then don't know what that will sound like...

    New Onkyo using existing speakers

In box overload, are you talking about the physical presence of the equipment? If that is the case, that is not an issue.

    New Onkyo using existing speakers

In regard to the music, will still continue to use my hifi separates for that, so music will always be played through the 602's. Just a thought.... Is it worth building a speaker system from the 602's (ie buying a centre speaker a sub and a pair of satellites), or am I just causing myself...

    New Onkyo using existing speakers

Cheers for that. Worth knowing. Ideally I want to change all, but can't afford the Q Acoustics 2000i speaker package as well as the Amp at this time. Is it worth investing in a 'cheaper' speaker set in the meantime, or would this just be a waste of money?

    New Onkyo using existing speakers

Will gather some info. Anything in particular you need? I also have a pair of B&W 602's, and wondered if I would be able to utilise these as well in the meantime.

    New Onkyo using existing speakers

I currently have a Sony AV amp and speaker package, which was bought as an all in one thing about 5 or six years ago. I want to upgrade the whole system, but cannot afford to replace both Amp and speakers, so here was the plan. I was going to buy the Onkyo NR609, but use the exisitng speakers...
