What is zone 2.

An area where you can have the same or different sound and/or picture to the main listening area in an av system.
Zone 1 front room, Zone 2 kitchen, Zone 3 upstairs in my setup.

If you mean (and I assume you do) about Zone 2 on the back of a receiver, it means it is capable of running a second pair of speakers so that you can pump your sound into a different room or Zone.
