zeppelin air sound dac?????

Hi can anyone point me in the right direction, i use a zeppelin air with an i pod classic to play music i dont dock the i pod instead i use a usb lead from the aux socket on the back is the music being listened to going through the i pod dac or the zeppelin?? . my other question is if i bought a new dac like an arcam sat the ipod in that instead would this improve the sound even more regards martin...

I would spend the rDac money on an iPod Touch instead and use the AirPlay your Zep is equipped with. Failing that, use the built-in dock.
