My system consists of:

1. CD PLAYER: Krell SACD Standard MKIII

2. INTEGRATED AMPLIFIER: Krell KAV-400 xi

3. Speakers: B&W 805S with FS-805 stands

4. CABLES: Townshend EDCT speaker cables, DCT300 (XLR) interconnect cables and 2 No. Russ Andrews - Reference PowerKord™ with silver Wattgate (W350i Ag) mains cables

My space: 4 x 3 meters

My music: All kind of Genre

How would you rate my system?

Do you thing I need to upgrade any part of my system and how?

Actually, it's your opinion that matters.

What do and don't you like about your current system?

What are you trying to achieve with an upgrade?

It looks great. Truly an.. "if you need to ask you can't afford" system by the looks of it.

My opinion would be meaningless. I doubt I will ever scale these heights.

I expect my whole system would not buy the plugs on your speaker cables.

Yep, as already stated, you've hit the heights there fella. If you need an upgrade it's time for an ear transplant.

Oi are you showing off

Yep as others have said top system, room for a good turntable then you could be really happy.....

jaxwired:Definately an excellent system. If I had your system, I'd look at speakers as my next upgrade. The 805s are great, but they lack bass...

Bass is more than enough because of my listen room which is 4 x 3 meters. I have tried 804 Nautilus but the bass was too heavy. Therefore I have chosen to buy 805S instead.

Pretty much everything but I' m trying to achieve better transparency and more natural sound.

will give you this for free - stop searching for better and start enjoying the music - i would say you're spending to much time disecting the sound and not really listening to the music!!!!

your system is great enjoy it! go buy some more music!

Hello chebby,

I don't see why not, its a cracking good arm on the P3-24 so I would have thought " no problem". And as you know installation is dead easy with the 3 point fixing, you could always give a dealer a bell to make sure.

I got mine off the bay for £90 , it was a month old after a guy had it as a stop gap while his mega expensive wilson Benesch cart was away being re tipped.

Great system.

Interested in why you're looking for critique and advice - is there something its not doing for you? Just remember that at the level your system is at changes are likely to provide greater differences in sound than actual improvement.

Best upgrade - some new music to enjoy!

Excellent system, The standard 3 is very involving player which make up for the slightly clinical nature of the amp and the 805S is pretty much on the money even now.

Upgrade path would be a pair of Sonus Faber Creamona Aduitor "M" which should make the system sound more involving. Bass should be better so soundstage and that slight brightness in the treble should be gone.

Hang on guys with the recommendations - the OP hasn't indicated what he's looking for from any potential upgrade !

I have no idea, but my recommendation here would be to determine which element in the current set-up adds too much "colour" into the proceedings and as you've mentioned you don't want to look at the speakers (rightly in my view, transparency isn't the sole preserve of the speaker alone, nor should any change immediately place them as first consideration either), then you need to determine what in the amp and source could be improved upon to achieve your aim.

Did you mention budget? Can't recall and it makes zero difference as I've never heard any of this stuff to make an informed suggestion.

All I would say is as above - determine the weak point in your current set-up and what kit would be worth shortlisting as potential replacements that lean towards more neutral presentation.

Add a power amp to your intergrated- that would give you better control and the rest etc. One can always improve, otherwise we would never achieve anything in life. It's an awesome system though 🙂 lucky man.

And hurrah for that i say. Ive been sitting on my hands for hours just reading the posts on this thread, trying to work out how to be diplomatic and not cause offence to anyone as it isnt intended, but i will try.

The guy is asking for opinions on a set up that is off the radar for i would hazzard a guess,a hell of a lot on this forum. IMO he should be registered to the kind of forum where kit of this level is a bit more prominant. I hope this makes sense without causing members to get the hump.

Edit, just noticed that he has indicated what he is after from his system,but........even so.

Nothing to stop people with higher end systems posting here... Elvis a couple of posts back is certainly in a position to give advice. As for the rest of us, we can hazard wild guesses. The OP can pick and choose as he wants.
