With HD-DVD a thing of the past, which Blu-ray discs are you most looking forward to? I'm plumping for Pulp Fiction at the end of the month...

No Country For Old Men which is out State Side on March 11th, Have ordered mine as its a region free disc. http://www.movietyme.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=39159

The unrated version of I Am Legend is also out and I find the discs are far cheaper when you get the imported versions.

30 Days of nite should be here this week. 2 discs away from 200. I just love BD.

Yeah, totally agree. Also, the good thing about Movietyme is that they've handily got a section where you can look at all the Blu-Ray releases that are region free. For anyone who's a Blade Runner fan, I definitely recommend the 5-Disc Blu-Ray Complete Edition for £21.99. It's region free and not available over here - another example of the Yanks geting all the good stuff. Two of the discs are standard Region 1 DVDs but if you've got a multiregion dvd player or a PC/Mac, you should have no problem.
I was not aware that there were 200 Blu-Ray discs worth owning yet???
There are over 500 titles available.
I think Krime was suggesting a difference between 'available' and 'worth owning' ;-)
Exactly the point I was making Fuzzy. There are 1000's upon 1000's of DVDs available but I choose to own only about 3000 of them and this was the point I was making about the available Blu-Ray titles, yes there may be more than 500 now but IMHO there are still a limited few worth buying. Oh and as for Bladerunner, why not have a look at the ULTIMATE COLLECTORS edition all in a Decker briefcase. I have this and it looks the part on the shelf.
I did the same as DJ Krime yesterday. Also ordered Crimson Tide at the same time from Movietyme.
Yep and mines been dispatched.

Films are subjective so while you may not think there is a big selection many others would disagree. Of the 200 I own I only regret buying one. I have been disappointed in a number of WB titles due to lack of HD audio.

Calm Down, Calm Down! Was merely emphasizing that it is a case of each to their own and not having a pop at what ever your choice of movie may be.

"but I choose to own only about 3000 "

Only 3000? well thats very discriminating D.J 🙂

Am still waiting to exchange contracts on new house and get a HD set up.

However, I bought my DVD player way to early - 1999 or '98 I think - paid a premium price and I think Gery Maguire was about the only disc available - a year later prices plummeted and loads more films were available so I'm not rushing into it this time!

That said - my next Blu Ray disc, ie my first, will certainly be Gladiator whenever it comes out...

You could not be any calmer than myself lol. I do have quite alot of animation and other movies for the missus.

Hi,

I'll definitely buy Pulp Fiction. Hopefully some of the Batman and Alien series of films will be released soon and the likes of the Lion King, Toy Story etc.

Cheers,

Cofnchtr.

Personally im hoping for a HD release of Leon (fav film) and blu-ray release of the Matrix trilogy

Come on; you can't leave it there.

Which is the disc to earn your ire?

Devils Rejects. Not that the transfer or sound was bad just that a studio would give this ass money to make a movie like that. I will be trying to swap that one out lol.
