Hi All

Have found the yamaha HTY 750 soundbar at an price of £185, anybody know if this is a good bit of kit as not allowed speakers, to many wires & to bulky apparently, so the only way i have left is a soundbar. I know they have just realeased the ysp 40d so this may be why this one is so cheap, any comments welcomed Thanks Steve

Hiya Steve,

It would appear that Soundbars are not the bees knees on this site, however I have purchased the YSP-30D Soundbar with the optional YST FSW100 Subwoofer for my surround system and even though the shape of my room is not perfect it does a grand job without having to spend out on Amp/loads of Speakers/stands and all the cables. If you purchase this magazine then use the voucher to buy some decent cables from Richer Sounds - £10 off purchases over £20. I have no reference to the HTY model you mention but Yamaha have been producing these for years and I am sure their budget model are respectable. Can you not audition one first as I listened to the YSP-1100 at Sevenoakes before I purchased the YSP-30D at a fantastic saving from Sound & Vision. Mine sits quite happily on the AV Rack and works well with my Panasonic set-up. What Hifi recommends the YSP-40D and YSP-1100. I can obviously recommend my Set up and some other readers rate their YSP-600 but if you can try before you buy or go for the higher models if poss.
