I had contacted my hi fi supplier who is 150 miles from where i live to get him to order a new RX Z7 now he tells me they are not stocking yamaha because of all the problems they have had with them. He would'nt give me any information on the problems and kept going on about how they had been to a sales conference and how they had opened up one of these and compared to the denon 4308a and pioneer sclx81 these had the worst caps and power supplies of them all. He then went on about how good the denon is and then gobsmacked me by telling me their new price here in NZ from when I first asked just before xmas they were on special at $4500 now they're asking $6000. what a rip off for a receiver over 2 years old. Any thoughts on those power supplies or are they just be biased towards an overpriced denon.

I have a Z7 and can't fault it, it's the best amp i've owned. A friend of mine has the Denon, the Z7 is better as far as i'm concerned. I haven't seen a negative review of the Z7.

Hi Charl thanks

Still undecided, wish it had full presense like the Z11. Still I had read that they run quite hot and was wondering how hot,

and would this have something to do with power supply dispersion.

When you mean it's better than the denon are you comparing the sound quality. Mostly all I watch is movies, but I want something with a good power supply to run my 4ohm dynaudio speakers

Hi mrobb,

The Z11 is nice but i prefer the Z7. The Z7 doesn't get any hotter then my previous Yamaha amps. The Z7 is awesome with movies and the sound is great even with music in stereo. You won't go wrong getting the Z7. I had a RXV 3900 before and i loved it but the Z7 is just so much better.
