How few tablets & phones neglect to add wireless charging.. I am using a DigiYes receiver (with a gold plug matching the tablet surround) which hides inside the book-case.. The receiver only £5, the book-case £20 and all seems to work well. Ive made a simple 'tray' holder to accurately align the receiver and charger. Probably slower than a cable but so convenient to pop it down to get a trickle.

Not so much luck with my Sony Xperia SP since the receiver covers the camera and/or nfc.

All devices should include wireless at so little cost.

Wheras the IR sender in the tablet seems useless with no app to support it. Otherwise - the Galaxy S 10.5 seems to be an excellent ipad opponent with a beautiful screen and generally well polished software.

Staggered to see so many comments. Clearly a popular thread needs an update. I recon 5% an hour on wireless. Ideal for overnight and an occasional midday topup. No good for heavy users but it may be a good solution for some. As a mini-usb hater, I'm pleased.
