Hi

i originally ripped my music as 'ape' files - unkowing that these wouldn't play in Windows Media Centre. i have now converted several 'CDs' to mp3 files. WMC still does not 'see' these - they are all located in my secondary 2TB 'F' drive - the PC uses a SSD for running programs.

If i load a CD, it plays in WMP, WMC shows it, with artwork and asks if i want to rip it - when i say yes, it rips it to the F drive, as soon as i take the disk out WMC doesn't show it and no matter what i try i cannot seem to make it show within the music section of WMC!!

What on earth am i doing wrong??? Can anybody help please!

Many thanks,

Jason.

Hi jason i may not be of any help. but i had problems like that i went into windows media player and assigned wmp to see a folder and then wmc found it. Its a bit of a pain so i just my laptop on with windows media sharing on and my squeezebox finds all my flac files. ps3 finds all my dvix,mpeg,xvid,mp4,vob,avchd files so i have no problems.

Im sure that you must have wmp acess to it in order for wmc to find it. Google codecs and plugins ect im not up with it to much and you can get wmc to find vlc which opens up many other formats. all the best
