When they're doing super slow mo it just flickers like mad, almost like a strobe. Anyone else suffering this?

This is through both SD and HD, and never experienced this at Wimbledon before or on any other sports. Any ideas?

lol Well they always give warnings on the news when there's flash photography: they should do the same with this!

I noticed it on Wimbledon last year and its there again this year. Out of interest are your TVs 1080 full HD or 720. Mine's 720 and I was wondering whether the flicker might be caused by the down scaling from 1080.

Yep, Frank is correct, it is the light source flickering. I used to have these really powerful bike lights for riding in the woods at night, and I tried using them as a video light. Got a very similar effect at certain shutter speeds.

Makes sense - anything above 50fps (half speed) will be faster than the overhead lights turning on and off at 50Hz. Guess we don;t normally notice because Wimbledon's not often under lights!
