I am on a budget and am confused as to which would be the better setup, better visuals by the Pionner 500A, or better sound by the B&W 685 Theatre 5.1

Either:

Pioneer 5090 50" Plasma, B&W 685 Theatre 5.1, Onkyo 876 AV Reciever

Or

Pioneer KRP-500A 50" Plasma, Tannoy F1 Custom 7.1, Onkyo 876 AV Reciever

What would you go for and why?

My choice would be the first set mainly down to the screen - which is simply superb, but you then have to house the seperate media box and have the hassle of powereing up your av system just to watch the news at ten unless you add the side speakers which again in my opinion spoil it's looks (don't know if you can get an under set speaker bar?).

Thats a personal choice so it will be interesting to read others views.

Cheers.

Its a choice of better tv or speakers, i would go for the second one only because the Pioneer KRP-500A is probably one of the best Pioneer have produced. You could of course change the amp to the Yamaha ax-873se if you can get it and still be able to afford the B&W 685. But hurry about getting the tv first, very much sought after now that they stopped producing them.
