On a more serious note, the rsfx would probably be the best match for your front three - if you can find any! (A pair of rs-cx are equivalent btw)

After that I would say it's between the bxfx and the rxfx and I would think the bxfx would be a closer match (this is gut feel, having not heard the combination).

I had the same conundrum with my rs-lcr / silver 8i front three and, in the end ( and allowing for the fact that Mrs. Scene was not keen on the look of the rsfx and not having the cash for the ma in ceiling speakers) I've gone for a pair of Q-AV BMR rears. They should be arriving soon, and I'll post an update when I've heard them in situ...

grdunn123:Thanx Scene, I'm torn between the 2 RS/RX, I'm just aware that this will be my last outlay for some time so I'm thinking RX for future proofing
I know what you mean. In my ideal world, I'd fit the in-ceiling speakers, probably four of them to allow for 7.1. However, this would probably cost £1,500+ once cabling and redecoration was factored in, something I don't have. Hence ky decision to go for the discreet and cheaper Q-AV option. If you are thinking of going down the rxfx route, you might want to look on the hifix website, as they had a pair of ex-demo rxfx in black (I called them) a few days ago.

Think they're a steal at that price, if black's the colour you want.

They're a steal if you have the money! I'm gonna have to get them though as you say, they are a bit of a bargain

I appreciate that the rear speakers don't play such an important role compared to fronts/centre....am I likely to hear a significant difference between MA RXFX and my old Mission M77DS Dipoles?

It is right that the front three speakers are the most important, but that's because they take most of the punishment. Having said that, when the rears do get going, they can be doing just as much as the front, so in this respect, they're just as important.

Thanks David.....so should I go for RX, RS, or BX (forget cost for a minute!)....and will I notice a significant difference from my Missions??? (Didn't realise just how old they are!)

Rear speakers normally tend to sound 'thinner' than the fronts, so you could get away with the RX's as they're more laid back than the RS's, so should balance out. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is RSFX with RX fronts.
