I've been looking for a new tv for ages and everytime I come to buy one a problem comes up which means I have to wait, then suprise suprise a new model comes out and then i'm back to square one of choosing which one is best. Its time now to get one but I can't afford a very expensive one so I was wondering which one has the best image quality out of the Panasonic TX32LXD70, and the Sony KDL32P3020? I'll be using with a Panasonic DMP-BD30 blu-ray dvd player. I'm not gonna be using it for tv programmes at all, just for watching films and playing my sega megadrive on. I was thinking about a plasma but would get screen burn from the sega games on it, so decided on an lcd tv instead.

The Panasonic is the superior set of those two - though there are new models just coming to market that could be even better. Sorry, I know that doesn't help your dilemma, but it would be lax of me not to point out that we're in a major changeover month for new-season sets (bit like new registration for cars!)

I guess the new Panasonic LZD80 will be in the region of £750 though and thats more than I can afford. The absolute most I can afford is £600. Someone just told me about the Sony KDL-32D3000. Is there any difference in image quality between those 2 sets?

well the Sony KDL32D3000 has 100hz, same as the panasonic, but id still say the panasonic has better overall picture quality.

You know i've been having a think in the last hour and and I dont watch broadcast programs at all, all I watch is movies. So would the Panasonic TH37PX70 be better do you think? I've just this minute read a review of it saying its the best tv upto 37" thats out at the moment. I've not seen the image quality of it so if anyone else has, how much better would the image quality be compared to the Panasonic TX32LXD70 lcd tv? If it would be better then i'm definately gonna go with the plasma.

although theres no current reviews, take a look at the new TH37PX80

Thanks clare, I think I will. I'm gonna look at the PX80 too when its released but its probably gonna be a lot more than £650 which the PX70 now sells for.
