Which CD Player Pioneer PD-D6-J or Cambridge Audio AZUR 640C V2

I have been asked for some advice on a cd player upgrade and seen as i know very little about hifi i was hoping you guys may be able to offer some.

Need to know which cd player to go for from the above or maybe something else upto £400?

It will be used with an Cambridge Audio AZUR 640A V2 amp and monitor audio BR5 speakers.

Any advice would be great!!!!!!!!!

Usual alternative suspects:

Marantz CD6002
Rotel RCD-06 (ignore the reviews)
Creek Evo (available from creekaudio.co.uk direct for £395)

I love my Cambridge, but given a free £400 I'd get the Creek.

The Pioneer PD-D6-J is very good........you could also try the Marantz CD6002.

I'd personally go for an Arcam CD72, CD73, Arcam Alpha 9 CD player or a Arcam CD192 (if you can find one at the right price).

Possible look at a Rega Planet too.

All better then the Pioneer/CA CDP if you ask me!

I had the Pioneer for a few hours - sound was fantastic but everyone says that the colour is black and in fact it is GREY (even Pioneer say so on the box). I sent it back. It wasn't worth the arguments from the fashion police aka the Missus.
