WHFSV Reviewing MA RX8 anytime soon ?

Do you have any plans to review the Monitor Audio Silver RX8 speakers any time soon ? I'd be interested in how you think they compare with the RX6.

I will of course audition in person, but still interested in what WHFSV thinks also.

Im told we're expecting the smaller MA RX1 speakers in next, so it may be a while before we get the RX8s.

You guys must get bugged lots to review this or that. I guess I'll do it too!

Well, this is more just an observation. It would possibly be most interesting do read a review of the RX2, what with the 8 inch driver. How many bookshelf speakers are out there with an 8 inch driver, after all? Not too many. I'll be auditioning the RX2 within the next three weeks, and I'll be sure to post my thoughts.

yes the rx8 sounded a bit worse to me.but i keep what i said.keep the br5 .imo better than the rx6.is upgrade you want then rs6 even cheaper.much better speakers for me

let me put ir this way.if the br5 were connected to a 3 band equalizer, I could get better sound of them then the rx6.the only difefrence in these 2 will be that i fond the br5 to have better timing but a little forwardness on the mids.

i wouldnt know ear , ive only ever heard the br5s , im listening to them now , and they sound fantastic , if i wasnt getting such a good deal id be very happy with what ive got , but the rx6s are beautifully made , give a bigger sound , better treble , more detailed , more bass , bigger soundstage , and for an extra e400 , its an easy decision for me , i very much doubt ill regret it

possibly not , but they need a good amount of time to burn in afaik , so unless they sound like a cat scratching slate , they will be in the boot of my focus by midday

Ear... No offence but I think you've got your ears up your bottom sometimes!

Have you demo'd the M/A RX2,s RX6's and RX8's? If so were they demo'd with a stereo amp or a surround sound receiver?

The RX6's are better than the BR5's; otherwise M/A wouldnt have made them... What Hifi wouldnt have given them rave reviews and people wouldnt be buying them!

The RX2's are superb standmount speakers (as are the RX1's); they BOTH compete with the likes of the GS10's, EB1's, B&W 685's etc and they do very well for themselves!

I'm not being biased because I've demo'd hell of a lot of speakers, amps and CDP's very recently but the M/A's consistently did very well indeed!

More so than the B&W offerings and the same with Kef, Wharfedale and the likes etc...

ear has really put the cat amongst the pigeons. I have to say he is wrong about the BR5 outgunning the RS and RX6. They are good speakers but I can't see them bettering the the RXs.

Audition until your hearts content and report back.

ear , when i was about to get the br5s , you warned me that they overpower in the midrange , now their better than any other speaker i care to mention

if i was a woman id be buying shoes not speakers

im not distorting your views , when i was preparing to get the br5s , i remember you saying that their bass is overpowering , in fact on another thread you said they were bad speakers , remember ? now that im getting the rx6s , you are telling me that you think the br5s are slightly better ? that is kind of confusing to me ? nobody else that has commented shares your views , anyway , dont worry about it , i appreciate your input , even if its a little confusing at times

true I am a perfectionist especially when Im spending my money.for the price of the rx6 I think one can get better speakers.if i was to buy some speakers now I woulnd have a clue what to get.but we are a bit limited of offer here in Portugal.
