..comparing it to my previous HDMI cable (http://ukhdmi.com/hdmi-maestro/) what is immeditately apparent is how much more pronounced colours are ie reds seem fuller and displayed with a greater spectrum of the shades. The second point I noticed was picture clarity, 3D picture production or depth of field, the picture honestly looks alot clearer or you see more whichever that is. For example I was seeing clear reflections on the marble in SD movies where before it was blurry plus little bits in movies Ive never seen before, it is odd really but satisfying. Shadow detail is improved but it's all the sum of its parts which highlight the Chord Active, you thought your picture was nice before? Chances are you'll be amazed simply replacing your existing HDMI with the Chord, all I suggest is try before you dismiss, try and I'd wager you'll be smiling, it's lovely when cables make such an apparent difference.
I can't comment on the Chord active sound because I just plug direct into my Sony Bravia, I prefer a musical amp to an av amp.
Sources I tried were several well known(and played too many times) SD movies and a few games on a Xbox 360.
So in conclusion a must-buy for those who strive for the best PQ possible for a reasonable price. You will be happy. Yes different HDMI's do produce different results, try it and see.
Problem now is... I need another ACTIVE for my soon-to-be-brought Sony S360!! :O)
