Surely you must have some idea of the screen size you would want? To say you just want the best value for money TV seems a very wide spectrum to choose from. If the best value for money TV is a 50" and the next best value for money is a 12 " would you seriously consider them both?

What are you going to be watching? SD,HD, Blue Ray, games, How close are you going to be sitting from the TV?

Panasonic 37px80 at less than £600 also Sony kdl40w4500 at £800 and Panasonic 42pz80 at £800.Larger screen go for the Panasonic 50pz80 at £1100.This is my choice from the high street.

I would add the panny 50PX8 at £699.

Actually, the cheaper 8th gen Kuros are the best value for money, as they ditch pointless 1080p capability for unbeatable contrast and nowadays you can buy them for £1,300.

If like me you want to watch blu-ray movies it's not pointless.

If you can stretch to £1600 there is the Pioneer 5080XD. Or the 50PZ81 (better spec than the Z80, with IFC, PIP, plays video from SD card, digital audio output...)

What about the Samsung PS50A456P. Any good because seen it for £648 delivered.

Can't find a review on this set anywhere?
