Hello,

I´m preparing to buying a AV Receiver. I am planning to add it to my Sony 40W4000 Full HD TV. Later on I would like to add some B&W M1´s

Now my personal favorites are the following:

Sony STR-DA2400ES

Denon AVR-1909

Marantz SR-5003

Now I´ve read a lot about them, but I just can´t make up my mind so I´m really curious about what you have to say.

I´ve red some thing that have made me doubt. De Sony is really not delivering much power conected to 7 channels, as it can with 2 channels. It´s dropping when it has to power 7 8 ohm speakers. Does anyone have notice this?
It´s also getting realy warm (41 degrees Celcius) as I´ve red. The temperature issue also the case with the Denon (temp of 49 degrees Celcius). The Marantz is the onlyone that acts on a much lower temperature (24 degrees Celcius).

Is the Auto setup of the Denon and the Marantz better then the sony?
How is the onscrean menu of the Denon and the Marantz?

Overall, al your comments are welkom.

Does Someone from the WHF team have some answers on my questions? As you tested two of the amps.

Aha, Iïm looking forward to that issue then. When is it coming? Is that the next issue?

Iïm still really curious about the opperating temperatures of the amps. Iïm going to place the amp in a narrow cabinet.

Hi Kudo ,

I've just bought the Denon as my first receiver.

I have not noticed it getting too warm ,although it is on an open sided stand.

It seems to have plenty in the tank to run my set of KEF's 2005.3's.

The on-screen menu is certainly old school, but I wouldn't let that put you off.

You very rarely use it once its set up and its certainly not a deal breaker.

Personally I love it.

Hope this is of help .
