What reasons for Sky Hd not to be 1080p?

Would it be anything to do with poor quality coax cable, or is it a satellite thing? Just wondering Like.

It's purely down to costs. Broadcasting at 1080p would use up considerably more transponder space/bandwidth than it does to broadcast at 1080i.

So assuming all things were fine regarding what you said and if they wanted to broadcast in 1080P. could it be done?

in other words could 1080P be received OK with the kit we have?

No, theyd have to make new boxes to take a full 1080P signal

I thought Sky HD was 720p ? hey ho - it maks little difference on a 32" TV. The sound is more important to me and generally it seems good - though not consistent.
