What new BD player?

HELP!! i'm wanting to go into the hidef era by getting the final piece to my ever growing home cinema kit! However i am completely stuck on which one to get, i've been looking at 3

1. Sony BDPS550 (Around £300)

2. Panasonic DMPBD55 (Around £400)

3. Pioneer BDPLX71 (Around £600)

All these players have been given top marks for sound and picture in the few reviews i've seen and upscale dvd's to a high standard! But for such a price difference surely there must be a clear winner or a certain order these should be considered? Someone please help my head is spinning what one do i get?

Hi Mate,

I am lloking at those 3 for the same reason. But the new (out soon) Pioneers BDP-51FD looks favourite to me if it gets the review thumbs up to be expected.As it is supposedly the same great picture/sound as the 71 but at around £399.

I am just waiting on my local Dealer demo's once I can spare the time to go and see the 55 v 71

I'm experiencing the same dilemma. Unfortunately, there seems to be a severe shortage of the Panasonic DMP-BD55, and there doesn't seem to be any fixed release date for the Pioneer BDP-51FD. It's all rather frustrating.
