I have recently purchased a PS3 and Panasonic TH37PX80.The built in free view picture quality is excellent; but currently the PS3 is connected using the standard connection.I have read the reviews for both the QED Qunex HDMI-SR and the Chord HDMI 1.3. Silver plus, both are available on the net for about the same price.I will only need a 0.5m cable to connect.
So my question is which would give the best picture?

Both are very good cables, and will give equally good picture quality in a set-up such as this. Over a run this short you I would be very surprised if you saw any great difference between them.

I use QED HDMI-P (now re-branded Performance HDMI) at around £45 for 1m.

Got them from www.hificables.co.uk

I will be surprised if you see a difference to your current cable to any new expensive one over that length and the fact the the current one works. 😉

About your TH37PX80, have you noticed any colour problems with it at all, flickering slightly dark then back to normal?

I recently bought the same set and have noticed mine sometimes flickers dark then light. I've had it replaced once because of it but the replacement does the same.

Could you have a look at Sky Sports News through the integrated freeview for a few minutes and see if the colour changes on its own? It does it on other channels and inputs but I've found Sky Sports News is the most noticeable.

Just look at the news reader's face while they read a story and see if you notice a change in colour.
